Boston Harbor Island Alliance
Boston Harbor Island Alliance hires a variety of positions, usually on a seasonal basis.
Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) hires seasonal interpreters to work on DCR-managed islands within the park. Positions began in late spring and run through Labor Day.

National Park Service
The National Park Service (NPS) hires Boston Harbor Islands interpretive park rangers and visitor use assistants to provide parkwide information and orientation from the Boston waterfront. Some programs are also offered on boats and at Boston Light on Little Brewster Island. Seasonal positions are usually from mid-May until the end of September. Boston Harbor Islands hires from a local registry of applicants, rather than the national registry. Seasonal positions are announced in late winter/early spring on USA Jobs.

Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center
Thompson Island Outward Bound is looking for qualified instructors to lead middle and high school-aged young people on exciting outdoor expeditions. We operate our Outward Bound courses on the waters of Boston Harbor and Massachusetts Bay. Above all else, you must like to work with a diverse group of kids. Green Ambassadors
Green Ambassadors are students between the ages of 15-18 employed for the summer doing environmental stewardship projects. The program is run in partnership by Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center and National Park Service. Green Ambassadors focus on trail maintenance and building projects, participate in citizen science and activities, perform public outreach, and explore a variety of environmental careers. Youth are trained to develop leadership skills, build positive relationships with peers, and educate their communities about Boston Harbor Islands national park area.
Boston Harbor Green Ambassadors Network is a network started by alumni. The network posts news of the program, upcoming application deadlines, and other academic and career opportunities for Boston youth.
Applications for the Summer 2013 season are now available. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, March 26, 2013. However, applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, so the sooner you apply the better.
